Detailed Job Description The Division of Student Affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Case Manager. The Case Manager will report to the Manager of Student Case Management and will work closely with Wellness Departments and campus community to provide case management services to a population of both undergraduate and graduate students with at risk health/mental health and social support needs through interventions, referrals, and connection to follow-up services. The candidate for this position will be an advocate for student success, possess a demonstrated ability to multi-task, and be able to effectively manage a diverse caseload.
In addition to direct service, this position would coordinate with campus partners including, but not limited to the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, Center for Residence Life, Center for Women and Gender, Student Conduct, Health Promotion, and Disabilities Services.
Provide crisis intervention, triage assessments, consultation, and referrals.
Coordinate care of identified students, including communication and liaison relationship with community agencies and providers.
On an as need basis, provide outreach programming, including planning and conducting programs.
Serve as a student conduct advocate.
Document cases in electronic medical record.
Uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately.
Participate in ongoing professional development appropriate to the position and jointly identified by the employee and supervisor and/or participate on department, division and university committees, task forces and projects as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Licensed or license eligible as mental health professional in the state of New York
Minimum of three years (3) of professional experience providing mental health services
Professional experience working with culturally diverse populations and range of presenting concerns/diagnoses.
Professional experience in crisis intervention, substances abuse prevention, and college populations.
Knowledge of behavioral intervention policy and procedure.
Solution focused approach to student care.
Outstanding communication skills, oral and written, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to a variety of audiences.
High emotional intelligence, a commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty.
Effective communications skillsinterpersonal, written, and electronic--including the ability to convey information in accessible terms to diverse, multicultural audiences.
Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn.
Competence using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and electronic calendaring software.
Experience using technology and systems to support administrative, operation and program functions.
