Under the direction of the Dean, the Executive Director is the academic and administrative leader of the School of Social Sciences consisting of programs in Economics, Political Science and Sociology. The Executive Director is responsible for managing all school activities and develops and implements school policies and procedures; manages the hiring and evaluation processes for all school faculty and staff; oversees curriculum, program development and outcome assessments; prepares and manages the academic advisement plan for all programs within the school; manages the school’s budget; and does related work as required. The Executive Director may be required to teach two in-load courses each semester (spring and fall) in addition to assigned managerial duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years of progressive experience in higher education or a related environment combining academic instruction, scholarly attainment and administration or the equivalent as determined by the University. Experience in related management fields, research organizations or not-for-profit entities is also acceptable. Academic leadership experience in higher education is highly preferred.
