Analyze requests for system maintenance or enhancements for large systems and subsystems. Competent to work on moderately complex projects with limited assistance or oversight from the senior programmer analyst or manager. Participate as a team member or lead application/development projects and reporting in support of the University's Web/Mobile based applications as well as CRM applications
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, business, or related field. -Actively participate in developing system requirements based on project needs. Designs into functioning software prototype code and final code; efficiently and effectively. Document the development process and the results. -4 years experience developing software for stand-alone applications or web-based applications and/or web services. -Excellent applied engineering, problem-solving and computational skills. -Experience with Java/JEE (JSP, Servlet, JDBC etc). -Experience with Spring/Grails or any other JEE framework. -Ability to manage own tasks on multiple (potentially unrelated) projects at a time. -Experience with Oracle or other relational database required. -Ability to write SQL and basic knowledge of ORM.
-Experience in agile development environment desired. -Experience developing mobile applications. -Experience developing with PL/Sql, JSON, SOAP, REST, and web services. -Experience with GIT -Knowledge of Eclipse or IntelliJ IDE’s. -Knowledge of Apex, Visualforce & Salesforce development experience is plus. -Knowledge of Integration tool like Jitterbit, Dell boomi is plus
Essential Functions and percent of time::
50% – Evaluate and modify existing code for enhancement or design and develop new reports and potentially complex programs or sub-systems.
20% – Effectively analyze user requirements working as a team or individually. Develop specifications for the design of enhancements to existing systems, or development of a sub-system.
10% – Collaborate with other teams and perform in-depth analysis of the impact of changes across systems and subsystems.
10% – Participate in feasibility studies for major enhancements to systems or in the development of a sub-system. Maintain a good knowledge base of new web and cloud based technologies. Willing to learn new technologies as per university need.
5% – Assist in training subordinates. Assist subordinates in the implementation of modification.
5% – Provide appropriate levels of communications to user groups throughout the university as it relates to current projects, analysis and delivery targets.
