Perelman School of Medicine has an ongoing need for Grants Managers across many different departments. This posting describes the basic responsibilities and requirements for a grants manager role. Grant Managers provide research administration and financial management support to their investigators. This includes managing proposal development, budget development and related pre-award activities for diverse sponsor portfolio; (both domestic and foreign). Manage post award activities including account setup, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections. Recommend/implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure efficient, accurate and timely grant closeouts. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines, OMB Uniform Guidance, and school and university policies. Meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise them on financial issues related to their portfolios. Maintain salary grids and work with payroll coordinator to ensure faculty and staff are paid correctly. Assist in the preparation of effort reports. Participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. Work on the more complicated grants including training grants and program projects with multiple sub-contracts.
Grants Manager B: The Grants Manager B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. The Grants Manager B will work on the more complicated grants including training grants and program projects with multiple sub-contracts Moreover, it is expected that the Grants Manager B candidate will have greater grants management experience than the Grants Manager A candidate, such that s/he can make greater contributions, including engaging in financial analysis. Provides leadership, supervision, training and professional development support for one or more direct reports.
The grants manager will report to the Senior Administrator of the department, center or institute they are hired into; if hired in the Department of Medicine, will have an indirect reporting relationship on an as needed basis with multiple DOM Divisions; and will also have a dotted reporting relationship to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.
