Job Description Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Research within the Clinical & Translational Research Unit (CTRU) in the COM, the Clinical Research Coordinator will work under limited supervision to coordinate and provide research care of study participants and manage the associated data for assigned research projects. They will follow study specific protocol guidelines, communicate and interact with Investigators, CTRU staff, sponsoring agencies, study candidates and others to effectively perform clinical research and coordinate research activities. Research activities include but are not limited to, patient advocacy and education, community engagement and study participant recruitment, education of other personnel, and marketing and promotion of the program. This position will assure compliance of standard operating procedures, as well as all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work in close collaboration with other members of the CTRU as well as project specific Principal Investigators (PI's) and members of their scientific teams (e.g., post-docs, graduate students, etc.).
Perform standard research procedures (e.g., blood draws, drug delivery, monitoring)
Conduct routine study visits, unscheduled study visits, and end-of-study visits
In collaboration with other CTRU staff: oParticipate in patient advocacy and education oCommunity engagement and study participant recruitment oEducation of other personnel oMarketing and promotion of the program oAssist with protocol development oComplete research forms and submit to the appropriate authorities oPerform study data entry and management oInterfacing with administration about budget and policies oDevelop and use source documents for studies oDevelop and update standard operating procedures
Communicate as appropriate with investigators, sponsors, monitors, regulatory agencies and IRB's
Assist with other clinical research study tasks as assigned by the Director, Clinical Research
Research Coordination experience in clinical research setting.
At least two (2) years of clinical research experience required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) desired
Previous experience in conducting or managing clinical studies/trials, budgets is highly desirable
Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) a plus
Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California a plus
Placement of electrocardiogram placement a plus

Must have the ability to manage and run several clinical research studies simultaneously
