Applications are invited from qualified individuals for the position of Postdoctoral Associate to begin in the near future, in the lab of Dr. Monica Driscoll. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry and at least 5 years of relevant research experience. The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to conduct independent research on the genetics and cell biology of neurodegeneration and aging, with a focus on the biology of neuronal elimination of protein aggregates and damaged mitochondria and the outside cellular responses to this remarkable process. Position requires independent research, weekly reporting to P. I., instruction of undergraduate and graduate lab students, public presentations, and manuscript prep. This is a 1 yr appointment with possibility of reappointment. Females and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics or related area; technical experience in cell and/or molecular biology lab experience in data analysis and coordinating and prioritizing multiple work demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding communication skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, statistical experience (desired), experience in imaging desired (Metamorph, Image-J).
