Detailed Job Description General Responsibilities:
To supervise the retail and food operations of Sol's Underground and the Corner Store. Ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining department standards in service and sanitation. The Corner Store is a high volume seven day a week convenience store. Sol's Underground is a combination convenience store with a high volume food platform.
Responsible to all customers and co-workers to provide excellent service in a friendly, sincere and courteous manner.
Responsible for cleanliness of unit and store rooms and that all staff (including yourself) follows proper sanitation and safety procedures.
Schedule, train and supervise student staff maintaining quality service in all areas on a daily basis.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and Micros registers. Responsible for daily verification of cash drawers as needed.
Responsible for opening and closing the unit and securing the unit and all store rooms depending on schedule.
Carry out special assignments as requested by the General Manager (i.e.: schedules, special events, etc.) in a timely manner.
Required to spend 80% of time in the store maintaining and updating displays, and supervising stocking staff.
Responsible for data input and updates of inventory system.
Responsible for input of billing.
Assist General Manager and Assistant Manager in ordering products for Sol's when applicable.
Knowledge of all aspects of the Corner Store, capable of filling shifts when required.
Assist General Manager and Assistant Manager with inventory.
Responsible for signage for the Corner Store and Sol's Underground.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Payroll systems, Point of sale systems and Inventory systems.
Required Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Two or three years' experience in the Food Service Industry or retail
Ability to manage or supervise multiple student employees at one time
Ability to interact with many levels of customers, managers, students, faculty, staff, Administrators and vendors.
