The statistical programmer Assembles and prepares data for reporting and statistical analyses for investigators, statisticians, data managers, and computer specialists. Prepares periodic reports to assess The inequality of data entered into databases. Develops and maintains relational database applications on multiple platforms utilizing various software products according to researchers' requirements. Develops overall database design and creates any required tables, forms and views. Prepares and maintains related documentation. Prepares graphic representations of analyses and data tables for presentations & manuscripts. Contributes to grant preparation, including preparing tables and graphs of study results. Facilitates teaching by assisting Senior Staff and Faculty in the preparation of materials.
Bachelor's degree in statistics, epidemiology or a closely related field. Two years related experience. Knowledge of SAS, including Data Step and related data manipulation programming and SAS macro language needed. Work requires the analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex information systems and programs. Knowledge of other statistical and graphical software is highly desired. Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
