The Dental Assistant 2, under the supervision of a licensed dentist, provides chair side assistance to dentists, dental students, dental hygienist, or dental technicians. Some employees in this class may perform clerical duties such as appointment scheduling, billing, and maintaining patient records.
This position provides support as needed to predoctoral clinics and specialty clinics including pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, oral & maxillofacial surgery, and faculty dental practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR DENTAL ASSISTANT 2 :
Two years of chair side dental assisting; OR
Completion of a Dental Assistant training program; OR
Equivalent combination of experience and training
Must have worked as a dental assistant within the last 5 years
Passed the DANB exam for dental assisting/x-ray certification (does notrequire CDA)
Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for RadiologicalProficiency required
Current valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card issued byAmerican Heart Association (AHA) required
