The Sociology/Anthropology department occasionally needs temporary, part-time instructors to teach sociology courses at the undergraduate level. Typical courses taught by temporary, part-time Instructors would include Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of the Family and Sociology of Disaster.
In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Master’s degree in Sociology with three years of teaching experience or ABD/PhD.
Evidence of commitment to working in a diverse environment.
Successful interview and teaching demonstration.
Three successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).
Ph.D. in Sociology
A complete application includes all of the following: the faculty application form, cover letter, curriculum vitae, at least two letters of reference dated and signed within the prior 12 months and copies of transcripts showing all degrees conferred and in progress. Degree print-outs are not acceptable as transcripts; only registrar-issued copies are acceptable. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
