The Department of Educational Foundations needs temporary part-time instructors for the supervision of student teachers. The Department of Educational Foundations, in the School of Education, is comprised of twelve faculty members and one support staff. The department offers courses in educational psychology, social foundations of education, instructional technology, content area literacy at the secondary level, supervision and leadership, differentiated instruction, methods of teaching, and student teaching.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and materials are reviewed when/as an operational need exists.
Instructors needed to supervise student teachers in public schools in Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties. Schedule requires applicants to be available during the day and flexible throughout the week.
In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.
Master’s degree in education
Five years full-time teaching experience at the secondary level (grades 7-12) teaching English, Social Studies, or Foreign Language
Successful public school experience
Successful experience supervising student teachers or as a cooperating teacher
Prior experience teaching course
Three successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).
