The College of Arts and Social Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University invite applications for two Social Work faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate.
The faculty will teach undergraduate and graduate social work courses, engage in an active research agenda, submit proposals for internal/external funding, engage in service activities and advise/mentor/recruit students. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing program support as needed, course development, assessment (QEP), supervise student interns, and serve in various leadership capacities in the department. Service to the Department, College and University is expected. These are 9-month positions.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Department of Social Work and Sociology is a supportive community of committed faculty and practitioners who prepare students to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Degree options include: the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Bachelor of Social Work, a Master of Social Work Degree (offered jointly with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro) and a PhD in Social Work (offered jointly with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The BSW and MSW programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. We are committed to excellence in education by preparing our students to face complex social problems with knowledge of evidenced based practice and creative solutions. Our curriculum and internships provide learning opportunities that foster leadership to promote the development of social and economic justice through practice and community engaged scholarship. The Department of Social Work and Sociology has 15 full-time faculty and is located in the College of Health and Human Sciences. The Department's fall 2017 undergraduate and graduate enrollment was 427 students.

Candidates must have (1) a master of social work degree (from an accredited program), (2) a Ph.D. in social work or a Ph.D. in a closely related discipline by the anticipated date of appointment, (3) at least 1 year of experience teaching in an accredited social work program, and (4) an initial record of research, publication, and professional accomplishments in social work or a related area.
Rank will be determined by the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Evidence of research productivity in health sciences and extramural funding are preferred. Two or more years of post-master of social work degree practice experience.
