Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. Analyzes research data and provides interpretations. Setup experimental and prototype system. Build advanced OCT systems, such as ultrahigh speed system, ultrahigh resolution system with adaptive optics and collect preliminary results for grant application /paper publication. May involve several different projects. Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technique reports, papers and grant applications. Provide direction and guidance to student workers as needed. Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory/scientific equipment.
