Wellesley College seeks a skilled professional to join the Library & Technology Services team as an IT Business Analyst supporting primarily Human Resources. This role serves as a functional business consultant, working with administrative departments and other LTS staff to translate their needs into technology requirements for the research, design, and implementation of technology solutions using Workday and other systems that the College has committed to. Manages and oversees complex institutional and/or cross-departmental technical projects. Ensures data is stored appropriately and securely, and can be accessed and analyzed by administrative departments through supported reporting tools. Supports administrative offices in the adoption new technologies to replace inefficient business processes, communicating benefits and, together with other LTS staff and key functional area staff, providing end-user documentation and training. This particular role will primarily be focused on supporting the HR functions across various departments including Human Resources, Provost Office, and Student Financial Services as a result of our recent adoption of Workday. In addition, he/she will also be a part of a team that provides secondary support to multiple departments across the College. We are seeking a professional who will help us to continue to promote, develop, and support Workday. The role will work with the HR and Payroll teams to manage the configuration of Workday, write custom reports, perform analysis and support, and help in the development of Workday modules. The individual will evaluate requests and make recommendations, test the impact of Workday’s feature releases, and perform testing of the new functionality.
Minimum Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in information services-related field preferred and 5+ years’ relevant technical knowledge and experience. 5+ years experience in a relevant field, preferably in higher education. Experience leading projects, but can also work as part of a team, analyzing projects, identifying their scope, complexity, and feasibility. Experience interacting with business users, ability to collect requirements, create business requirements and functional specification documents for system improvements. Demonstrated ability to take the business requirements and translate into system configuration. -Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple demands and thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written. -Ability to analyze and coordinate components of projects and communicate effectively with people involved. -Ability to work with different areas throughout the College with employees who have varying degrees of technical expertise. -Strong leadership skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach to work. -Ability to work in a flexible and dynamic environment. Highly Desirable Experience: -Minimum of two years’ Workday experience. -Experience with the following Workday modules is desired: Core HCM, Recruiting, Time Tracking and Absence, Performance Management, Advanced Compensation, Benefits and Workday Payroll. Experience with Workday Learning a plus. Exposure to the troubleshooting of existing Workday integrations and development of basic EIB inbound/outbound integrations a plus. -Experience configuring Business Processes within Workday. -Project management experience. -Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, vlookups) and MS Office skills.
