The Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas seeks to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Auditory Neurosciences with a productive and innovative investigator whose research interests address auditory neuroscience, perception & consciousness, electrophysiology, invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation. We are combining cognitive measures, neurophysiological measures, structural MRI, (resting state) functional MRI, DTI and DKI. The postdoctoral position is available to conduct research concerning tinnitus, hyperacusis, congenital deafness... Ongoing projects include the assessment of functional changes in the brain in patients with simple or complex auditory phantom percepts, how do we come to an auditory percept.... The incumbent will have the opportunity to assist and collaborate with ongoing projects and be involved in a clinical trial on invasive neuromodulation for the treatment of tinnitus.

Preferred Education and Experience:
The appointment is for one year and can be extended for two more years. The specific start date is negotiable. Preference will be given to those candidates whose research interfaces with existing research projects or that cross disciplinary lines. The training program is designed as a 2-3 year experience that includes interdisciplinary team meetings, lab presentations, attendance at talks, journal article discussions, and training in cognitive and neuroimaging research. The successful applicant should have a PhD degree and research experience relevant to the research.
Salary and benefits are competitive. The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences engages postdoctoral fellows to engage in extramural research in support of existing research programs and to assist in mentoring promising graduate students at all levels of expertise. Successful candidates may also engage in independent research projects.
