The Hospital Assistant will assist with emergent procedures such as providing supplies, setting up equipment for emergency procedures. Duties Include: Transportation of patients, supplies and specimens Ordering and stocking of supplies Maintenance of special equipment including sterile equipment and set-ups Coordinating the clerical activities and supporting the back desk activities (clerical/reception) for patient care in the Emergency Department (ex. matching lab specimens with lab specimen slips and sending them to the lab). Assist with patient education Participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication. Ensure patients are safe and comfortable during their stay in the Emergency Department through monitoring and providing feedback to medical and nursing staff Provide updates of patient inquiries to physician and nursing staff REQUIREMENT:High School graduation AND six months experience involving customer service OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience.
