Summary of Position: Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems. Develop, test, maintain and document application software for SUNY Cortland's enterprise systems. Analyze and/or assist in development of customer specifications. Understand and apply various programming languages to meet the needs and requirements of the client. Participate in code reviews and quality assurance. Complete all necessary documentation for tasks performed.
Major Responsibilities: Work as a team member in the support of Ellucian Banner/Banner Self-Service student information system, responsible for all aspects of developing, programming, integration, testing and implementation of applications to support Banner; first level support for the offices of Financial Aid and a variety of other offices; responsible for the application system interfaces to various third party software applications, including the data integration and synchronization between systems; analyzing user needs and developing solutions to meet user requirements; develop reports using database reporting software; work closely with various technical and functional departments as needed.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's DegreeExperience in computer programming and software development Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise level databasedevelopment Excellent interpersonal, communications, and written skills The willingness and ability to function as part of a dynamic team Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work interactively as well as independently
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related fieldKnowledge of PL/SQL and various enterprise level applications and programming languages Experience working in a higher education environment Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and shell scripting Application support and functional knowledge of Ellucian Banner and Banner Self-Service Experience working with Oracle, SQR, Argos Experience with 3rd party software integration
