Coordinates and manages judicial case assignments.
Conducts appropriate follow-up with staff members and provides feedback where appropriate to ensure consistency.
Thoughtful decision making and compliance with student conduct processes and procedures.
Adjudicates cases of student misconduct.
Serves as a student conduct officer by conducting disciplinary and administrative hearings.
Manages cases assigned to residence life staff members.
Monitors all sanctions for policy compliance and consistent decision making.
Conducts primary fact-finding and information gathering in response to student conduct incidents and recommends appropriate course of action.
Conducts intake meetings with students to inform them of their rights and responsibilities during student conduct hearings.
Monitors student conduct sanctions for completion and follow-up with students and administrators in regard to non-completed sanctions.
Corresponds with residence hall staff verbally and in writing regarding case specific issues.
Compiles data and statistics for comprehensive evaluation of student conduct processes and procedures.
Coordinates and oversees data management systems.
Collects and analyzes data.
Creates weekly, mid-year, annual reports and statistical summaries as appropriate.
Solicits feedback from constituents and utilize appropriate analytical techniques to recommend improvements to programs and services.
Maintains information technology applications.
Ensures compliance with national, local, and university laws, regulations, standards and codes.
Develops student conduct-related innovative and effective educational and informational programs and resources for use by multiple audiences at the university and off campus.
Maintains the Student Conduct websites as an effective resource for internal and external constituents.
Develops publications, resources and programs to effectively support students charges with student conduct violations.
Serves as a resource person for students, parents, faculty and administrators regarding student conduct processes.
Master's Degree required with a focus in student personnel administration, higher education administration, JD or related area of specialization preferred.
Demonstrated experience participating in due process hearings.
Writing fact-finding decisions.
Presenting cases in administrative and judicial proceedings.
Minimum three (3) years of experience working in student conduct or related role (post-graduate) required.
Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws, regulatory codes, ordinances and procedures relevant to student life and student judicial matters such as FERPA and Title IX.
Knowledge of judicial/discipline principles, practices, and procedures including: advising, counseling, conflict management, goal setting, program development, presentations, professional correspondence, record keeping, report writing, and student development theory.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) or similar software experience required.
