The Marketing & International Business Department at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington, Seattle invites applications for two newly announced faculty positions in marketing beginning September 2016. These appointments will be for full-time, 9 months, tenure-track positions (100% FTE) at the rank of Assistant Professor and is pending the Provost's approval. Successful candidates will have a PhD in Marketing or related fields and/or foreign equivalent. The candidate must demonstrate interest in and capacity to conduct high quality scholarly research. The department seeks candidates pursuing research in any of the mainstream fields within marketing.However, our search for these positions is presently focused on those well-trained in conducting rigorous quantitative (analytical or empirical) research in marketing (position #1) or consumer behavior/psychology (position #2). University of Washington faculty members engage in research, teaching, and service. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate potential to publish in top-tier marketing journals and to teach at a high level of competency.
The undergraduate program is ranked 11th and the MBA program is ranked eighth among public schools by U.S. News and World Report for 2016. State-of-the-art Paccar Hall opened in 2010 and Dempsey Hall followed in 2012 completing the Michael G. Foster School of Business complex which also comprises the Bank of America Executive Education Center and Mackenzie Hall now in the design phase for a total replacement. The buildings act as convergence zones for faculty, students, alumni, and business leaders.
The Marketing Department comprises a group of highly productive scholars representing eclectic research interests including analytical and empirical modeling, consumer behavior, and marketing strategy. Several of our faculty members are MSI Young Scholars, award winning researchers and teachers, and/or editorial board members of leading marketing journals. These faculty members include Nidhi Agrawal, Abhishek Borah, Lea Dunn, Mark Forehand, Shailendra Pratap Jain, Natalie Mizik, Robert Palmatier, Oliver Rutz, Amin Sayedi, Ann Schlosser, Jeff Shulman, Richard Yalch, Hema Yoganarasimhan and Jonathan Zhang.
Seattle, the location of the Foster School, is a culturally rich city offering a picturesque setting, vibrant life style and innumerable recreational opportunities, and the location for the headquarters of a number of global firms (Amazon, Costco, Expedia, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nordstrom, REI, Starbucks, and T-Mobile, among others).
